Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

She claimed that if I wasn’t informed before she is informing me now and that if I want to make any change I have to do it on the phone, right then and there. TBH, I rarely fly AA, mostly United and Delta, and have never had this type of BS pulled on me. Any suggestions? Am I SOL here or is there anything I can do, either cancel for full refund or try to Reroute through a city with direct flight? Thanks in advance!
Hang up and call back. If they changed your flight, you can ask for a refund or change you on a different routing if you would like.
I’m not sure what you mean by reroute through a city with a direct flight. I assume you are going ORD-DFW-CDG. Alternatives would probably be ORD-JFK or ORD-PHL.
Got it, thanks for the insight! We got a really great deal on these — $500/person non-stop (originally) both ways. Depending on how the pandemic shapes up we may or may not take the trip but it’s good to know the refund should be an option given their change to our flight.
Update: got a much more competent and helpful person this time. They said I would be eligible for a full refund and no charge if I decided to change the ticket because a change from non-stop to a connecting flight waived the fees.
