Does anyone have experience transitioning from tax (will be S1 effective 10/1) to a financial analyst position, and have advice? I don’t want to do tax. I’m interested in learning a business/industry and not just looking at records. I want to be active in the business and process, forecasting, working with sales/marketing/manufacturing teams and coming up with financial solutions. I’m interested in the process/how things are made-so I want to take my career in this direction. AnyPosition titles?

I’m 23 and independent. Working full time and studying full time is taking a serious toll on my mental health. I’m always tired, unmotivated, depressed, sometimes angry at my life, and I don’t know what to do. I’m in my sophomore year. I also don’t work in the field that I’m studying (computer science) because I’m always rejected without an interview, which is another aggravating factor for me. It’s hard to have time to work on personal projects to make my portfolio more attractive.

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. I try to hide it from my boyfriend, but its impact is flowing into my personal life.

For B4 - For teams with temp (contractor) seniors - I’ve noted that they are held to the same work quality standards of normal full time seniors, while not getting any of the senior trainings or perks that would go with that perm role (just some basic survivals trainings at best), nor the access to the perm positions once they prove they can do the job. Then heard they are viewed as little higher than outsource teams (i.e., the offshore teams only given non-judgmental work). What’s your opinion?
