They are paid with OT. In busy season they comp is probably higher than most SM.
It balances out when they don’t get vacation pay or bonuses or increases or benefits though.
They can work 4 months out of 12 and earn basically the same pay
A lot of them have the same year experience as a manager / senior manager but is being treated as a senior. At least for EY, I had a senior like that with same year of experience as me and I'm a SM

Do they have a CPA? We have contractors that are seniors with MD level of experience but they just can’t get motivated to pass all 4 parts within 18 months.

They get paid a ton more and it’s by the hour. For some people it’s worth it.
Anyone know how much the contractors get paid? I’ve been debating whether it’s worth it to do the same, given that I now have a child and would enjoy the flexibility to only work, say, X months out of the year with overtime pay.

Typically they get paid more hourly. You have to in order to make up for having no benefits.
