I'm serving notice period in TCS and my last day is in 2 weeks. I requested for pickup of laptop in the portal but I came to know that it will take time for pickup and I won't be available if they come late. So I decided to go to office and surrender the laptop as I'm in the location of office only. Is there a seperate request to be raised for surrender of laptop and how to cancel the existing request for pickup. Please guide.Tata Consultancy

First of all, it is necessary to make a clear distinction between the partner remuneration models that each firm adopts: the so-called socialist model and a model that is strictly results-oriented, also known as “you eat what you kill.”
In the first model, based on partner seniority, total compensation is effectively capped and structured into tiers. In the second model, there is a relatively low fixed component, with compensation heavily weighted toward the variable portion, which depends on how much an individual sells and the margins generated.
That said, correct me if I am wrong, but firms that typically adopt a socialist model are MBB and Strategy& (at least in the region, as it inherited the Booz model). Oliver Wyman is well known for following a “you eat what you kill” approach, as do boutiques such as Alvarez and Alix. Arthur D. Little also follows this model. As for the Big 4, I do not have a clear view, nor do I for Kearney.
A Partner 1 at Strategy& should be around USD 700k in total compensation. I would expect MBB to be somewhat higher, roughly 10 to 20 percent above that level. At Arthur D. Little, assuming an average performance, a Partner 1 would, in my view, take home at least USD 400k to 500k. At Oliver Wyman, compensation tends to be higher, with figures closer to USD 1 million.
Sigh… This is what keeps me going on dark client days

For what it's worth, here are some numbers I have heard over the years, including the boom years between 2020 and 2024. They progress upwards differently across these firms, and the variance is the widest at OW. This year's #s will look vastly different.
McK: 600K
BCG: 700K
Bain: 500K
OW: 700K but varies widely
Kearney: 750K
S&: 650K
Anyone with big 4 numbers please? Also are you building in Profit sharing?
