Plaintiffs side 🤷🏻♀️
Employment makes less than class action firms, for example
Their current job posting includes the range as required by CA law: “The salary range for associate attorneys is between $102,000 and $130,180 annually, depending on experience. Associate attorneys are also eligible for annual bonuses.”
If bonuses are in line with other union-side boutiques, they could be up to low six figures in good years, but you are not going to get up to big law numbers. Cost of living in the Bay Area has long outstripped public interest salaries. It is what it is.
Plaintiff side work is up and down. Bonuses are almost certainly going to be 100% discretionary. If you are looking at that firm, you should not be expecting anything like a big firm comp structure. As far as how they compare to other firms in their practice area, I unfortunately don’t have any information. Plaintiff firm comp structures vary widely and are notoriously difficult to pin down.
