If you are using excel, avoid the Mac

like

I haven’t myself but PwC has that option. Everyone who has taken the MacBook has said it doesn’t work as well for the normal work stuff they do like excel and alteryx.

like

Why would anyone want a MacBook if you’re only ever going to run excel?

like

Because Apple Numbers is superior

I haven’t for work. I would generally stick with the PC. Macs are great for certain things, but anything accounting related is not one of those things.

The only people that use MacBooks for work are the people that audit Microsoft lol

I guess there is risk that MS might be able to manipulate the audit result since its their software..? XD

I did for years but I used Parallels to run Excel, Word and PPT. I had a Mac at home that I also ran Parallels on so I was familiar with it.

If you’re not familiar with a Mac, don’t go with one for work. Even if you are familiar with it, it has its limitations for the MS Office programs.

I’ve never used a Mac for personal or work, so for that reason alone I’d stick with what I know. Mac doesn’t play nice with a lot of things and especially for work purposes I would rather not have to fight with certain programs when I don’t have a lot of choice in it. Now, if you are really familiar and know how it works, I’d consider it, but even then, the programs can be tough to work in.

I’m in Fincrime Tech Consulting. Going on 3 years with my Mac. Love it

Is there any vacancy in barcelona in the field of accounting

I encourage you to look and learn Apple Numbers, I’ve used this and Apple Pages to reduce the time it takes for invoicing by a third of the time.

Another good senior gave notice today 🥲 don’t blame her one bit and wish her best of luck - I just wish our firm would’ve treated people better so that people at least don’t leave during busy season (we are filing in 3 weeks). Just finishing my first week in as an audit intern and genuinely I have no idea what I'm doing or even a general idea of the audit process. The senior associate left the engagement last week so it's just me and an associate, and they don't have time to give me instruction.

Am I stupid or did the e-learns not prepare me for any of this? The training told me I'd be auditing cash but I haven't even touched a bank reconciliation.
