The place I used to work at did that.

Yeah I worker at a broker dealer and unfortunately some people were let go because of what popped up. They did a background & credit check but if you know you have nothing for them to be concern about you’re fine.
Currently awaiting my bcgc with Citi. If anyone knows the process please let me know . I believe they use Yale Associates as their third party.
I have done that. Sometimes it is scary (Even though there is nothing to worry about), but you never know what the company can pull on you to get rid of you.
I mean, realistically they can get rid of me either way for any reason, I just think it’s so weird to waste money onboarding someone and it turns out you have to fire them.
I haven't but I also have never heard of this before. Especially in finance. Most places do both a background check and a credit check
I mean I believe that they will, apparently it’s a post-employment background check and not a pre-employment background check but I’ve never encountered this before.
I have never worked anywhere that did the background check after. Why do you ask? Most places do it before and even if they did, it would be a condition of employment that you pass it.
I accepted an offer a week or so ago and today I reached out for an update on the background check as I’d need to give notice soon and my HR contact told me that they generally wait until you start to complete it.
