Acadia National Park is gorgeous in July and August.

I love Yellowstone. Gotta make reservations a year in advance though, especially during the summer.

Ranier
None. They’re all booked. You think you’re actually gona get to visit one with literally everyone and their grandma making plans to travel this summer? It’s fucking madness. People have lost their minds. Wish you the best tho.

Actually… most of them (even the timed entry ones) open up a few slots the day before. Rocky Mtn NP works this way. OP if you really wanna see some cool stuff, and you’re in good shape, do the hot ones and the harder trails. Started Angel’s Landing at Zion around noon and there wasn’t a soul on the trail, same thing with the Narrows, despite everyone telling us we’d have to start at 5 am or miss our chance… it can be done, you’ve just gotta be up in your luck and open to adventure!
Glacier!!
Glacier/Rainier in continental US
AK parks are a different level though. Still need to do a couple and trying to figure out how to do Gates of the Arctic with a toddler (totally unsuccessful so far)
This is the right answer from someone who has been to 30 of them
One of the greatest hidden gems that usually isn’t crowded is Bryce Canyon. Stay in the lodge or cabins in the park if you can! Beautiful in summertime, and though it’s “close” to Zion, it’s like another season. Evenings are quite cool / crisp (even 50s) in the summer and nothing smells quite as fresh as those pines. Could say the same for Great Smoky Mtn NP too.
Custer. To see Mount Rushmore during July 4 is amazing.
