“Really look at” and “one data point among many” are not mutually exclusive options

You're the same guy as before, aren't you? Dude, stop trying to game the system and trying to take the easy way out. Everything is evaluated. Why would they invest $$$ in a new online exam if it weren't actually going to be used?
Like what I mentioned before, less time spending mental energy and time trying to strategize to take the easy way out. More time prepping.
BCG2, at McKinsey, we are not encouraged to give feedback at every touch point. In fact, we are highly encouraged to explicitly tell applicants if an event is completely non-evaluative. It’s because McK places much less emphasis on networking and more on the resume itself.
They care. Recruited for BCG last year at a T10 MBA. Had a strong resume and got a lot of traction with networking and didn’t get an interview invite. Pretty sure it was because I bombed the online case and rambled in my rec.
(Interviewed with McK and Bain so doubt it was resume or coffee chats that got me dinged)
They look at it. I interviewed a year back and the campus representative called me that had I not done bad in the online assessment I would have had great chance. I really had solid traction from partners.

BCG evaluates everything. I did things a bit backwards and decided late in the game to apply to consulting. As a result, I had no data points on personal interaction. After I got the offer for an internship, the recruiting partner said they evaluate 4 main areas fairly equally and the online case was one listed. I had aced 3 of the 4- and the one missing is they hadn't interacted with me. That was an easy few phone calls to rule me in or out.
While I wouldn't advise that approach, if I hadn't have aced the online case, had a strong background, they would have never bothered to talk to me. There is no way to game the system.
