Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Most of our major regions (US, UK, Australia) have moved to Day One eligibility for our core consulting roles. You generally don't have to wait a year to qualify for the paid portion.
- UK: This is probably the best. 26 weeks fully paid from your first day.
- US (Core): Usually 16 weeks fully paid, also from Day One.
- US (Delivery Center/USDC): Be careful here. Some of these roles still have a 6-month waiting period before you get the full 16 weeks.
- Australia: 18 weeks paid starting Day One.
Just because they pay you doesn't mean you're covered by federal laws like FMLA (in the US). FMLA job protection usually requires a year of tenure. Deloitte is typically good about honoring the leave anyway, but it’s a legal distinction to keep in mind.
Also, watch out for clawback clauses. If you take the full 16 or 26 weeks and then quit right after you get back, they might come after you for that salary.
I'd double-check the Life & Family section on DNet or just hit up a Talent rep. Policies change, especially between different practice groups.

While they do provide it from Day 1 , you are not protected under FMLA, meaning you could get fired when on leave.
