Does Deloitte reimburse AWS certification cost? Or is there any specific way of using Deloitte’s corporate credentials while creating the AWS certification account? Please advise.

At least on DNet for Advisory, AWS is only covered for one small group (can’t remember if it was a subset of Cyber Risk). But that being said, if you have a business case then you can probably get your PEP/Business Leader to make an exception.

Deloitte does reimburse aws costs - for cloud practitioners specifically. If you are cloud engineering, send me a DM and I can help.

I am not from Cloud Engg. I am from A&C. Just doing this out of interest.

In that instance, I suggest you reach out to your counselor and see if he/ she can help. Also, if you are likely to use the skills on your project, it might be an easy discussion with your partner too.

Yes that makes sense , thank you !

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected. Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100. Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.

Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls

How soon is too soon to be preparing for a lateral move? I did my 1L summer internship in a niche area of securities law, loved it, took courses on it. I decided I wanted to explore securities law a little more broadly and not to pigeonhole myself. The firm I’m at is great—doing sec lit—but has zero work in that niche area that I liked. I’m afraid that I am passing on a passion, and I don’t want to get too “old” for a firm to take me on if I have zero experience in a specialty area. Advice? Thx

How are folks thinking about permanent life insurance? 45, making let’s say for example (not my exact numbers): $1M per year, not yet vested in pension. Was thinking need to replace the post tax take home, about $550k NPV’ed at 5% to age 55, so that’s like $3.2M. Maybe pension is worth $2.5M so I think that means I should have $5.7 total you want death to have no financial impact. Also was going to do $1M of that in perm w/ LTC rider. Sound right?
