Does everyone struggle with work life balance after getting married?you have a house to take care and an office work sometimes makes everything stressful

Hadn’t noticed this sub before, and most of the threads are old so thought I’d ask a follow up - how has everyone been handling parenting with public accounting? I’ve got a toddler and my wife is an accountant (industry), and we only have a few immediate family in the country- but they have health concerns. Busy season was rough, things are looking better now as things return to normal. Still working crazy hours if you count the daycare duties on top of utilization targets.

Is anyone feeling especially burnt out lately? I’ve had to work weekends for the last month. I know deals are sporadic but it feels like they have consistently ended up this way where I’m forced to work weekends. Getting frustrated because pay has also slowed down.

Anyone in GT Accounting Advisory? What's the day to day like and how is the WLB?

Is 7 weeks too early to start thinking I may have made a huge mistake in switching to my current gig? I left the last place because it was overr toxic and terrible W/L balance, for one that seemed to be more “fun” and more realistic hours, only to find that I’ve now been working 12 -14 hours a day and just drowning and feeling like I cannot catch up or catch my breath. Everyone is in the same boat here which is why I’m so overwhelmed so quickly with no support. Is this an immediate red flag?

Any working mothers in here who loves the company they’re working for? I am thinking about switching firms and need some honest thoughts on companies that doesn’t only say, but actually practice flexibility for work life balance and offers good $$$.

I am a high performer at my current firm but they started questioning working arrangements of folks based on the new members who are huge in-office folks, fast turnover within the team, etc. This wasn’t an issue when I first joined.

I’ve learned recently about some traumatic events that family members of mine have gone through but I had no idea had occurred. Besides my parents divorcing I really have not experienced that many hardships or trauma in my life. Sometimes it makes me worry if I’m due for something bad to happen, if the other shoe was going to drop at some point. I know hardships are a part of life and I feel like I have had far less than normal

Why do some muslim men think that career women in their 30s become desperate and will significantly lower their standards? Someone with 3 kids that’s been divorced twice and isn’t even practicing just told my friend he’ll do her the favor of giving her children. The arrogance is mind boggling

very Selective jobs( MF PE and BB IBs) kinda blow these numbers out of the water... but for the more attainable exits like MM IB and and corporate development... considering wlb and pay, is the grass much greener?

My GF and I are dating for 2.5 yrs , She met an office colleague (he has a GF) recently who she initiated a friendship with. I feel that they interact a lot and I'm a little worried of her getting too close to him. A day ago she asked him for lunch and they were out for almost 4-5 hrs. When I expressed how I felt she keeps saying there's nothing going on. I feel that when start to get emotionally close to some other guy than SO then it's not a good sign in relationship. How is Flipkart for Work life balance? I have ~5 years of exp and hold an offer of 32 + Stocks. Also the expectation is to know Java but during the interview process , there was no discussion of Java or any questions asked. Although the team has asked me to invest some time in learning Java but I’m skeptical about all of this as the position is Data Engineer II so not sure how the expectations will change. Even if I invest time in learning Java I can be at a beginner level.
