Does McKinsey pay out unused PTO days?

I’m likely to leave the Firm on secondment in the spring, and have some days that would roll over from this year, that I don’t think I can use up before I leave. Does McK have an option to pay out days in a situation like this, and if so what’s the typical benchmark?

Why do firms fire people with low but still profitable hours? I am in my first full year on track for pretty low hours (~1500) but the actual realized fees (after writedowns) are still double my yearly salary. Is it because firms know they could replace someone like me with an equivalent attorney who would bill more?
