Does your depression and /or anxiety get worse at certain times of day? I get depressed when I wake up on work days and anxious when I'm getting off of work for some reason. Seems weird to me....

I get depressed Sunday nights and almost each work morning. I feel a little boost of happiness when I leave work each day.

My depression stems from a lousy job in a call center that almost led me to suicide. And it still haunts me today because I absolutely don't want to get back into that industry and similar working conditions. I now live in the US (previously in Germany) and am having massive problems with the job market here. I spend my mornings scouring the usual job boards, and by lunchtime at the latest, I'm totally depressed because
a) it feels like 90% of all jobs either cover exactly this area (support or sales),
b) I'm physically unable to meet the demands (I'm not 18 anymore and can't stand in line at Walmart all day),
or c) many employers find it hard to understand that my vocational training from Germany is comparable in content to the bachelor's degree, which is the standard here in the US. I have neither the time nor the money to acquire dozens of "certificates" to prove the knowledge I've already acquired through my vocational training.

In the evening, the second phase of depression comes when I get angry about the unsuccessful day and wish I wouldn't wake up the next morning because I've long since resigned myself to the idea that things could ever get better.

Getting outside, even if it’s just to the car does help.

I get anxious when I wake up and anxious when I get off work too

Anyone watch the clock tick away and have this endless dread of the work day starting like me. When I wake up on weekdays I dread looking at the clock. During the day I mentally start counting down how much time is left on a 30 min break, on Sundays it’s a whole different story.

My mood has been fluctuating so much lately. Some days (yesterday) I wake up feeling invincible and some days (today) want to hide myself the rest of the world and feel like nothing will ever get better. Took my first ever sick day today on account of my very poor and worsening mental health. Just could not bring myself to put in another 14 hour day with back to back meetings and constant activity. Felt very guilty but I honestly wish I could be more honest and actually share with my manager about why I took a day off.

Up antidepressant dosage or quit?
Relatively new position at a coveted firm as their Marketing and BD manager. Have suffered burnout and depressive episodes previously: can feel the symptoms raising it’s head. Most importantly, struggling to tolerate how directors speak to me, whereas previously I wouldn’t take it personally and get on with it. Actively looking for a different position as I’ve come to discover this company exploits EME employees, but want to attempt to end on a “high note”.
