This question is wild. Our industry is so effed up that we’re asking what’s the least awful way to sit for 12 hours straight 😵💫. For the love of god get a standing desk with a walking pad or something.

Knew someone would say this. I walk my dog around the block every 3.5 hours. Also, I am a freelancer, so a 12 hour day is actually a gift. I tried standing during a meeting once, and liked it. Will keep at it for longer periods.
Steelcase Leap or Herman Miller Aeron used alongside a sit/stand desk
I have some spine stuff going on. But I’m pretty well supported by the Herman miller Embody
I spent like $400 on an Office Depot Serta (like the mattress) Executive Chair in 2020. Soooo comfy and worth every dollar!
Same Aeron for 15 years and counting, with just a few replacement wheels
Got an Aeron from a secondhand office furniture warehouse a few years ago. Got to sit in a billion chairs and pick out exactly what I wanted. Paid $600, they included a warranty on cylinder repairs. Still in great condition today.
Here fur the advice. I need a new chair too lol
Never sit for 12 hours - ever.

If you can get past the aesthetic then gaming chairs can be quite comfortable. There are plenty of corny ones but you can often get them in all black. I use mine (brand is Spieltek) in combo with an adjustable standing desk
Haworth Fern. So comfy, better than Herman Miller.

Steelcase Gesture.
I have been wanting to ask this question too, but why is an HM Aeron $2500 on their website but looks like a $40 plastic and mesh one from Staples? I've been in the market, but skeptical of grossly expensive chairs. Maybe I'll look on the secondary marketplace.
I'll check out DWR, thanks
Live by the chair. Die by the chair.
