I dont know but I think it would be legal for IT to run a report on your activity on your work computer. If I'm multitasking and doing something not work related I open up my personal laptop.
If I'm at work for 12 hours and I need to do something personal real quick I'm comfortable with that, but if I'm working from home on my work laptop I don't think it's appropriate. I'm hourly, so I really shouldn't be using it for non-work related purposes. If I did and IT noticed I would not be surprised, therefore I don't. But certainly if I'm on a 12 hour shift if I needed to log into my school account or pay a bill I'd be comfortable doing that.
Nope not mind bot that I am aware of. Plus heard a friend said she bought a mouse jigger so her laptop never goes idle.
Oh my gosh, I had to look that up. I never even knew a mouse jiggler existed!
Any work computer anywhere is tracked by the company, in the same way that companies check phone records for all company phones or internet usage on every computer. If the device is theirs, then they have every right to track it. No different than if you loan out your phone, you have every right to track it with your computer.

It was legal when I was working. The Rules and Expectations that each new employee was handed on their first day made it clear that the work computer and phone could not be used for personal things and that by signing the offer contract you were giving approval for your computer and/or phone to be requested and examined by IT at any time.

I wouldn’t use any work device for anything I wouldn’t be ok with my employer seeing.
Yes. And I assume that employers can track my activity on my personal mobile device if I'm connected to the WiFi. It's probably legal when you're an employee.
Not legal to track your personal device, but it is 100% legal to track what websites you use on their wifi. Hence, if you walk into a hospital and turn on their wifi, I guarantee you apps like fanduel won't open if it's the same wifi their employees use. Their are programs that block that sort of stuff, but they also track your site usage, so if employee X decides to open a hacking site, I can guarantee you he's on his way to termination. Within the next 5 business days.
It most certainly is legal for them to track your activity on their devices. Did you just think it was a free-for-all???
