I turned 30 yesterday and I just now realized something about this job. It may not apply to everyone, but it seems to click for me.

Each and every audit/assurance engagement I’m on will be successful if BOTH the client and engagement team (and their expectations) are properly managed.

I’ve stumbled my way to M1 without realizing this. I was always focused on the engagement team and relied on motivated clients to keep up their end of the bargain. Glad I’ve realized this heading into year two.

Well there’s been a lot of rejection in 2020, but I finally accepted a role at a new employer today. It may not be my “dream” but I believe my possibilities are endless and they are aware of my long-term career goals. Finally some good news after all the negatives the previous year has brought me.

What are peoples opinions on work from home? It seems to be an unpopular opinion but as a junior I despise it. I work 3 feet from my bed, I find the barriers of a phone/email between me and a senior to add a huge amount of stress to my life and I think it’s stunting my career development at my firm because I can’t build relationships as effectively. I’ve never at all had mental health issues before but now am really starting to feel burnt out and anxious most of the time. What do you think?
