Hi. I have applied for a job in an academic setting for a leadership role in cancer research. Duties would have me responsible for a small team of research nurses as well as other managerial duties for the department. I have been a research nurse for 3 years now, but I have no experience applying for a salaried position or a role in leadership. What sort of salary would be appropriate to ask for? Anyone else having trouble focusing today? Every time I have a long break and come back to the office I’m reminded how much I don’t like my current job. I have been selected at citi but HR is unable to release offer letter. This is because I have worked for citi as contractor or consultant in past but I don't remember my SP ID or GP ID which Citi provides to its temporary employees. HR is checking my SP ID or GP ID which was allocated to me in the past but I don't recall it is. HR is checking this with US team and this process is taking time. If they cannot extract it due to some reason, will they release my offer letter? Please clarify this.

Let’s kick things off! What practice area and firm type are people at?

Leaving my (London, big US) firm; HR has sent me various confirmations they are asking me to sign “before my last day”: I haven’t taken any docs, am aware of my regulatory obligations, don’t have any claims against the firm, have returned everything I need to return etc etc etc. This feels like an obvious try-on: the firm isn’t paying me anything to sign, my reg obligations are unaffected by it etc. How do others manage these? Just walk out on last day?

What are peoples opinions on work from home? It seems to be an unpopular opinion but as a junior I despise it.
