Self-described ‘aggressive litigators’ are insecure lawyers compensating poor technical skills with unjustified pressure.

Posted in the U.K. bowl because U.S litigation is a little different. If you are a good lawyer then you need not do the following: deliberately obfuscate facts, heap pressure on unrepresented defendants, behave impolitely to the defendant’s lawyers, and delegating all difficult work to barristers (thus driving up client costs). The law has no place for these people.

I was told by someone about 3 levels above me that for the band (level) I’m at, the minimum pay is $13k more than what I make. He then says “You didn’t hear that from me” meaning that I am not supposed to know that and therefore can’t do anything about it without exposing him as the person who told me. What the h*ll am I supposed to even make of this?

I have a resume question!

I have 10 plus years of sales experience and 7 in an AE senior AE role however, when applying to positions that I know I am more than qualified for my resume is getting bot rejected before it even gets viewed. I am not sure why other than I do not have my b.a as I decided to pursue sales full time while in college and did not finish. This has not stopped me from getting interviews before , any ideas on how to get around the bots?

London folk, question for you: do firms and offices in London not recruit candidates directly? Leaving my (London, big US) firm; HR has sent me various confirmations they are asking me to sign “before my last day”: I haven’t taken any docs, am aware of my regulatory obligations, don’t have any claims against the firm, have returned everything I need to return etc etc etc. This feels like an obvious try-on: the firm isn’t paying me anything to sign, my reg obligations are unaffected by it etc. How do others manage these?
