Posted in the U.K. bowl because U.S litigation is a little different. If you are a good lawyer then you need not do the following: deliberately obfuscate facts, heap pressure on unrepresented defendants, behave impolitely to the defendant’s lawyers, and delegating all difficult work to barristers (thus driving up client costs). The law has no place for these people.

London folk, question for you: do firms and offices in London not recruit candidates directly? Does it make sense to approach firms by yourself at all? Would appreciate any insight I can get on the matter. Thank you!

Leaving my (London, big US) firm; HR has sent me various confirmations they are asking me to sign “before my last day”: I haven’t taken any docs, am aware of my regulatory obligations, don’t have any claims against the firm, have returned everything I need to return etc etc etc. This feels like an obvious try-on: the firm isn’t paying me anything to sign, my reg obligations are unaffected by it etc. How do others manage these? Just walk out on last day?
