ECDs:
ECDs shouldn’t be presenting work, CDs shouldn’t be presenting work … you set the stage for your creatives, let them present, support them by adding witty comments or info when needed, and then run the feedback process.
I know with some clients and rush projects it makes more sense to have the CD run the entire presentation but otherwise as a leader you should be there to teach your team, not steal the glory and feed your own ego
Love that! @D1
Can’t bring logic to an ego fight
The guy sounded like he was hurrying to the bathroom while chewing a loaf of bread. No ego. I worked hard.

Oddly specific
Been there when I was coming up. That's why now, 9 times out of 10 I have teams present their own work. I'm there to support and grease the wheels if needed.
ECD sets the table for creatives to eat.
I’d even say that CDs do the same thing for the creatives that make the work and report to the CD. But be familiar with the creative enough if the client doesn’t want all the people in the room he/she can present well.
They do it on purpose because they don’t want to sell that one
Yeah I’ve seen this happen a lot
What the difference between God and a Creative Director? God doesn’t think he’s a creative director
Okay. This is real.
This was a huge problem at Deutsch LA in Taco Bell years ago. The ECD’s didn’t even try to hide their bias for the teams they wanted to go on shoots with. Gotta love the “boys club” mentality that plagues this industry.
Currently working at whatever the opposite of Deutsch is. But yeah, bros promoting bros. Don’t even get me started on LinkedIn.
Good idea if you're presenting your own work, too
