Every client deck these days seems to have one slide about “AI‑powered consulting,” but in my day‑to‑day the gains have been modest. I’ve found Copilot handy for rewriting emails but other “agents” feel more like a solution in search of a problem. Where have AI tools actually saved you time on client work (e.g., research, data analysis)? Have you run into the opposite—tools that create more work than they save. If you could wave a wand and automate one part of your engagement what would it be?

True agents aren’t ready yet. Copilot isn’t an agent itself. It’s a prompt window that utilizes some flavor of ChatGPT to do some GenAI task.

I actually run Perplexity to do my external research which has mostly eliminated most of my asks to my team. This has actually resulted in faster and better research than what most of my junior team members used to give me.

Research and analysis. Finding academic papers, summarising. Used Copilot on Friday to join 7 CSVs, conduct statistical tests, generate plots. It spits out working XLSX files with formulas too.

I’m negotiating my salary, and I’m curious what a reporter/digital editorial lead makes at your company? I have 15+ years of experience in employee communications and TV news, and I live in the Seattle area. I think I’m being shortchanged bc I’m asked to do some of my previous manager’s responsibilities (he was promoted), but I’m paid as a reporter. I report to my director who reports to our SVP, and I’ve worked for this Fortune 20 company for 10 yrs. Any info would be helpful. Thank you!
