Not dumb at all. My husband and I work for the same firm, office and LOB. We make sure to keep it very professional at work. We don’t spend time at eachother’s desks. If we want to go out to grab coffee, we’ll just text it eachother to meet at the lobby. And others in the office didn’t view it to be strange either. There were a handful of couples in the same LOB as us as well.
How stable is this firm? Layoffs could go from an unfortunate experience to quite destructive to the home
Probably most stable firm in top 10
It's like having your entire 401k invested in the company you work for.
Met my girlfriend at PwC who became my wife. Still married. She back at PwC as a boomerang. We go no bonuses she just got a nice bonus

I personally would never date someone that works for the same firm in the same office as me, but to each their own
I used to think, oh - I dont want to me in the same firm considering layoffs and other factors. But thats going to happen at any big 4.
But if you think rationally, if you are both at big 4 its beneficial to be in the same one as you have less restrictions on stocks to buy.
We started off at different big 4s and ended up at EY eventually. He was in audit and I was in tax so he was always at client site and I was in office so least interaction there.
The good thing was, we got same holidays and office events to go to while keeping majority of our work separate.
I work in the same firm, office and LOB as my SO. We were already married when both of us started. It’s different now being home, but when we were still in the office it was so nice. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s been really nice for us.
In my group there are actually several partners who are married to the directors. They obviously are not on the same clients but the group is big enough so it’s not an issue.
My SM and his wife work in the same office and same service line. They seem to be doing fine. YMMV.

My SO is at the same firm/office but different LOB. Met back in school. We never saw each other at work since we were always at different client sites. Almost felt like we were at different firms so it didn't impact me at all outside of easily being able to chat them lol.
This is incredibly common
I really like being in the same office as my SO, however we rarely see each other during work hours as we work at different client sites. It is nice always having someone to go to events/happy hours with you
16 years of marriage. Same office, same SSL. Not dumb at all.
Depends on the people. My parents did it. I could not do it. It seems like people who LOVE and LIVE for work do it. Good for them! Not for me!
Wife and I work for the same firm, office, and LOB. It’s been great.
Happens everywhere.
