Every time there are more layoffs announced my first thought isn’t to feel bad for people losing their jobs, it’s to worry about the fact that I have more competition in trying to find one myself.

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

For everyone I reject in an interview: I secretly wish we can have a feedback session and I secretly wish you find something that fits you like a glove. And I mean it when I say it: all the best.

I left my job without having anything else lined up otherwise I would have had a mental breakdown. I’m not even in that great of a financial place, but it was my job or my sanity. I know at least three other people who, in the past few months, have left with nothing lined up. I feel like it’s something we need to be talking more about. This isn’t normal for people to be doing this right?
