Does anyone have experience interviewing with Deloitte Internal Services? I had my final interview a week and a half ago, and received positive feedback throughout. The hiring manager had positive things to say and mentioned they hoped to make a decision by the end of last week. It’s now Friday the week after. The role still shows as “Interviews in Process.” We did discuss potential start dates, but no salary. Any experience with receiving offers for an internal services role? Is this common?

It’s not either or. We don’t live in a black and white world. Hiring manager aren’t CDs. You need to be prepared for both audiences. Agree the work is most important but it’s just lazy not to have a good looking resume
It’s all about the work in your portfolio. LinkedIn is the only resume I’ve ever needed to list agencies and positions.
A lot of jobs outside of traditional agencies require a resume
Totally agree with CD1. I have an ATS resume and one for actual people. Connections are still the main way in, but the ATS resume helped a bunch for the recruiter audience.
Commenting bc I’m also curious. Mine makes me cringe bc it’s so formal but that’s what I’m mostly seeing so 🤷🏻♂️
Also commenting because I’m curious. I have a nicely designed resume that speaks to my skill but was told to only use my plain one for the AI filters they’re using to filter applications.
I think short & sweet is the general rule + awards + education + skills. Creative resumes I’ve always been told to make a little more creative. I’m happy to send you mind as a general reference if you DM.
I’d love to see it if you’re willing to share
I use my resume to detail things I don’t put into my portfolio, especially industries/experience that don’t give good work, but I did work on.
B2B stuff, healthcare, QSRs.
I also list general skills you won’t see on a portfolio, like hiring, mentoring, managing, etc.
I find recruiters and hiring managers who aren’t creative look at my resume for those things, and the extra detail is nice, especially around work like mail, banners, social, etc. sure I’ve done TV and experiential and those are in my book, but I was getting asked about the other stuff a lot in first interviews, and when I put it in my resume, I got a lot of “I saw you’ve done BLANK, that’s good, we need that.”
The real question is do people still do cover letters?

It’s ok to have one nicely designed résumé, especially if you’re an art director. But keep it simple don’t overdo it.
But you also should have a simple format text only version for all the ATS garbage.
