Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
A lot of poopy faces at ORD right now.

Are you working your way thru white pages? Next will be "Bain, Bechtel, Boeing"?
Free flights across all airlines domestically and one world alliance internationally which includes a lot of airlines
Not to mention Dallas has an extremely low cost of living believe it or not - there is no state income tax and it's Texas where everything is big so you can easily get a 4000 sq foot house for $300-$400k depending an area or if you are single a cool loft In Uptown. People are super nice ... used to live there and it was great.
MBA plus 2 years as SA. Worked on tech and airlines engagements and wouldn't mind either of them. I am concerned about the work life balance at both the tech companies. It's almost like picking a role vs. brand. Strong brand name for Apple and Amazon but like the corporate strategy role in airlines.
Most of my MBA classmates who joined Amazon after school and are looking to move. Is the AA gig in Dallas? It's a pretty good place to live.
Yes AA is in Dallas and free flights
That perk and corp strategy would make me pick AA
Heard Amazon is a body sweat shop. That being said if you want to build your CV for a couple of years it would probably work. Apple probably carries most weight but the big Q is which industry you are interested in.
AA role for sure. Especially with the news lately that warren buffet/other investors are bullish on airlines- I'm guessing there's also an attractive employee stock purchase package
Don't become an #AAsshole.
^ not too shabby.
I interned for Amazon, please speak with other people. NO ONE really likes there job, they do it because it pays well but they lack what other high paying tech firms offer, managers who will work with you and make you better, collaborative thinking, free food, group outings, and did I say no free food? Don't let that HUGE sign in bonus fool you, it did when my friends signed the offer and they regret it and are already looking for other jobs
Wait. What? Free flights across all airlines?? What?? I am sold...
Presumably non rev D3. But that doesn't mean it's worthless- my friend has been at Delta for about a year and a half now and goes on international trips all the time - frequently getting upgraded because the first class seats aren't sold
Congratulations on the options! What's your profile?
Not Amazon
Free AA flights or delta?
What's your offer at AA if you don't mind me asking? Seems to me it was quite low- I got an offer as a revenue analyst there out of undergrad and it was 60k.
Free flights or free non rev flights which means like flying standby all the time? The latter is basically what flight attendants get.
My mother was a flight attendant so I flew non rev a lot. I think it's harder nowadays as flights are more full. I can remember plenty of days hanging out in the airport hoping the next flight would have availability.
