I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

I joined Tiger Analytics with CTC of 9lpa. When I check in greythr IT statement, it shows 7.14lpa.
In the CTC payslip, it shows 75k per month as my salary. But this month I got 61k.
I understand they deduct tax, but I feel it is too much. IDK where I'm losing the money. Can someone tell if this is normal. I'm a fresher so, IDK much about it.
Also, what can I do to pay less taxes? Any help on that?

I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

Your value isn’t the outcome of an interview. Just keep going!
I will add to the encouragement. Brilliant friend of mine had to lock for about 4 months, got a job at Amazon eventually. It is not you, keep up the hard work.
I sympathize. Job hunting can turn into a full-time job and you’ve been grinding it. You deserve a break. Enjoy a week of staycation or doing nothing at all. Self-assess and come back to the hunt re-energized.
Referrals are great, keep tapping into your network!
Did Google, Amazon, or Microsoft give any actionable feedback for you? I know G tends to not.
You never know when you’ll get a call so stay positive! With 2021 planning happening across the board, people are requesting headcount for next year and hopefully there will be more openings soon!
Nerdwallet also has openings. Looks like they are currently doing 2021 planning. So they have an update soon.
Keep grinding man. And don’t get into the mentality that FAANG are the only good paying companies. There are several other companies that pay comparable salaries with better work/life balance
Getting those interviews is proof of your skills. Not matching with a specific manager or BU is a whole different mater.
I wasn’t offered a position the first time I applied and interviewed at Microsoft, but I was the second time and have now been here for almost 8 years... it wasn’t the right team the first time and fit matters. Keep looking and keep working your contacts
Keep grinding
What role did you apply for and what were the interview questions?
There are so many jobs outside of FAANG. Keep trying if that's what you want - but no harm in casting a wider net
Have you had your resume reviewed by an agency? I found that made a difference for my non FAANG applications. I also did not make it past facebook, Amazon and Google first interview (after recruiter) was a yes, but I never heard back. So I feel for you. Take a break, refresh and try again. It will work out. Also Ive seen openings at stripe. That might be a good fit, given your PayPal experience
1) Export all your LinkedIn contacts to a .csv file.
2) Save that file as an Excel spreadsheet.
3) Identify every salesperson you know who's in the Information Security space.
4) Send each of them an email or a LinkedIn message that asks - "Have you heard from any good headhunters lately, either via email or on LinkedIn?".
5) When they reply "yes", ask them to give you a little detail about the job opportunity & connect you to that headhunter.
I saw an opening at Nordstrom for payments too. Maybe update your search to look for such openings - if I am stating the obvious, apologises if I am
A better fit is worth more than a higher salary
