Ring doorbell and floodlight cameras. I have them at my 3 houses. No issues - very helpful.

Ring is what I use too. There’s also a “community” in the app where neighbors post about things that are happening (porch pirates, loose animals, etc.)
I have ring outside and Simplisafe inside. My ring camera are not monitored but do record. My Simplisafe are monitored when the alarm is armed. When the alarm is not armed, there’s a physical block so they can watch me watching TV. With Simplisafe, I also have 2 motion detectors and door sensors on all the exterior doors. With ring I have a doorbell, a spotlight on my driveway, and a camera facing my backyard. Be aware that criminals have tech that disables wireless networks which effectively disables wireless cameras. If you want more reliability, you need to get wired cameras which will require you to hire a security company.
Simplisafe , if you want monitoring.
I use this and this is pretty good
Otherwise, plenty available on Amazon for video record recording.
I use Eufy and I don’t pay monthly, no subscription
We have both nest and simplisafe. Simplisafe was primarily for the door sensors/alarm but the Costco package we bought came with a couple outdoor battery cameras. Biggest negative for us is if we just want to quickly check the cameras you have to open individually, it clicks on, then takes several seconds to actually start streaming (or in some cases over a minute).
Nest cameras and doorbell I prefer and we pay the ~$100 annually for recordings. We can quickly view all cameras at once within a few seconds of opening the app and customize the alerts.
