First time getting staffed as a writer and realizing that the pay per episode sounds great until you divide it across the entire year. 😬 How do you actually budget when money comes in chunks instead of a steady paycheck?

It is a very different setup than most people are used to. I keep a very strict budget making sure that I keep track of everything coming in and everything going out. Make sure you are planning ahead as much as possible. Late fees and missed payments can snowball fast. It does get easier as you do it more.

The classic freelance struggle! That “great” per-episode pay can feel like a dream until you spread it over months of unpredictability. Budgeting with chunk income means tracking your average monthly expenses and building a buffer. Aim for at least 3-6 months of living costs saved. Treat each payment like a paycheck: divide it out mentally, set aside taxes early, and plan for lean months. It’s less comfy but builds serious financial muscle.

Hello Fishes,
My wife worked in a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry as a QA Officer. Due to maternity complication she took approx. 2 years gap for her career. Meanwhile she learned few courses like PV, CDM, Clinical Research.
Here my question, now she want to start her career again with her new skills in CDM, PV.
1. Which one will have growth CDM or PV?
2. Does they consider earlier experience because she had a gap.?

Waiting for few suggestions and if any reference 😊

For some time now, series about the pre-end of the world time is becoming more and more popular, this is the case with "The Handmaid's Tales" it has a perfect image design, characters with a perfectly defined background, and the ability to represent a totally possible pre-apocalyptic world. It has it all. Any other series with these features?
