My friends and family think I have a tendency to be a little neurotic... anyone else in this boat? Any advice? I definitely have anxiety and can be a worrier but I’m not weird about cleaning or anything and I don’t let these worries hold me back from actually doing anything (besides covid stuff, and even then I’ve been on the lax side and go to stores and such).

I worked previously at an affiliate marketing startup and a deal sourcing database firm prior and realized that I need something more strategic/creative. Would you take a job at a start up that will be paying you $7k less than your current salary if the job was in a space you want to be in?

In February of this year I was approached by a company out of Colorado that’s an AWS reseller (I love working w/ AWS Products). They offered a great 6-figure salary, unlimited PTO, full medical/ dental & Wellness benefits. Things felt too good to be true at first yet I know my worth and thought about time, a company finally saw my worth also, so I resigned from the company I spent over 12+ years with. Things were going great, then June I was placed on a bogus PIP (fully Corrected) then laid off.

Some of you really only bill 17/1800 hours? Are you just busy doing non-billable work or you just don’t have enough work coming to you? If it’s because you don’t have enough work does that mean you have your evenings and weekends to yourself too? Could you maybe help the rest of us out who never get either?

So, a senior person at work told me I was too hard on myself when I shared that I am very anxious because my very junior team is not detail oriented and the client dings us for this, and I feel like all I do is try to preempt mistakes being sent to the client, but there are so many it’s like catching rain in a sieve. They then said I should talk to my therapist about this. I didn’t want to look defensive and say I don’t see a therapist, but I am regretting not speaking up.

Just started at my firm about a month ago (Plaintiff’s side L&E). Not sure I’m really enjoying it. It’s very slow compared to my previous firm experience - I find I never have enough to do and no one’s really mentoring me. Pay is decent enough though.
