What is the culture like, type of work and reputation of Capco in the Data & Analytics space?
I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.
TIA

After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

It's not the best job market to be jumping into, but you might as well jump in. Write up a resume and start applying to organizations in your area where you'd want to work. If you have any contacts in the finance industry, do some networking and see if anyone knows of an opening. A lot of positions are found through word of mouth, so don't hesitate to let people know you're looking.

Jobs in our industry are still growing albeit very slowly at this time. It's also hard to jump into things without first going through being an underwriter or analyst first. If you have connections in higher management then it might be possible... good luck!

You are switching from education to finance?
I've done this exact move. Feel free to email me or find me on LinkedIn. I taught high school right out of college, and immediately started looking for more. Your masters will definitely help, but did you have a focus when teaching as well? There are two keys:
1) In resume/cover letter writing: frame you skills and achievements to demonstrate how things transfer. e.g.. Setting targets (like for student success), developing a strategy to reach that objective, and implementing a framework to evaluate and iterate on the outcome. highlight the ways you used data to identify trends and address outliers (like in student performance). All of this can demonstrate your ability to plan, execute, and get results. Emphasize your ability to communicate complex concepts simply, and your ability to collaborate with colleagues and caregivers to drive student success....you get the idea. big picture skills used as a teacher that will help you be great at-or even stand out in-the next role.
2) Don't be too picky with your first job. priority 1 is industry experience. For me, it was a part time job at tax firm while continuing to teach until I got an entry-level investment analyst/portfolio manager role. If you have an idea what discipline of finance you're most passionate about, you can try to stay in or adjacent to that lane, but building more transferrable skills on the job can help too (especially if that role supports you getting relevant licenses or pursuing designations).
Lastly, continue building your acumen through independent learning (jargon, concepts, programming in Python, SQL, R, excel skills, familiarize yourself with software and tools used in the roles you're seeking, watch demos of them in use, etc. etc... In some respects you may have to fake it to make it at first, but on job training in hard/technical skills and tools is always expected in early roles. Good luck!
