Vacation AND sick time combined? Do not accept that offer
It’s not. It’s 10 PTO + 10 sick
Congrats on the offer bro, but I wouldn't touch that shit with a 10 foot pole
they are really offering 10 pto and sick combined?
No- 10 PTO + 10 sick/personal
Guys it’s 10 days of PTO and 10 sick days, not 10 combined days overall 🤦♂️ Still not great but not as egregious as y’all are thinking
They'll hire you and fire you 6 months later
The market is tight. Take it. And if the PTO thing really becomes an issue, look for something else. A bid in the hand and all that.
That's just what it says, but they wont hold you to those ten days. You can definitely take more time off if you want.
Negotiate everything. Including PTO.
Sure you can always try, but HIGHLY doubt the company will budge on PTO for someone as junior as OP
Honestly two weeks a year was how it was in the 90’s. After 4 years you got 3 weeks off and we had to wait for 10 years to get 4 weeks. So feels status quo
Yeah, it’s 2026 but as we all know, COL has increased but salaries have not. Do we really expect co’s to care about our vacation or PTO?
Run.
From this screenshot it seems that it’s 10 days vacation and sick, but maybe I’m reading it wrong.
Agreed, left bottom sub header is intended to cause confusion/ambiguity. I read it as two buckets: vacation days by level, and 10 “sick/personal” days.
If you really need to take an offer from them, negotiate an extra week of vacation. Make sure you clarify that PTO/sick is a 10 day block at a minimum. Make sure you clarify that vacation is separate from that. That’s what OMC offered pre acquisition.
It’s in pretty bad shape right now. If working very hard and going elsewhere in 6 months to a year would feel worthwhile, then do it. If you have an offer from anywhere else, take that instead.
What role is it? I’ve been hearing a lot of supervisors/ADs have been starting with 15 days vacation
Also it very much depends on the account you are on and what team. I’m on planning and personally I have an amazing team and manager and we try to ensure that we’re maintaining a proper work life balance.
But I feel like the general consensus for the agency has been that it’s been pretty rough recently as we’ve been losing some paid days off, summer fridays reduced and the winter vacation got taken away.
It depends on the agency for sure, and if the agency is doing well, winning new business and hiring people it seems like they have bargaining power for their employees. I joined IPG before it was omnicom so I can’t say for sure their process/ allowances but throughout my career I’ve always be told negotiating everything possible. Knowing a few recruiters personally the expect you to negotiate and have a certain amount of leverage they can approve, and will go above them if it’s not within their ability to approve directly. It’s worth trying — no recruiter/ hiring manager is suddenly going deem you unworthy of a job because you asked for a few more vacation days.
