For CA attorneys: Client filed a complaint against a contractor through CSLB, investigator is coming to the house to inspect this week. Unbeknownst to client, contractor filed a lawsuit for breach of contract in state court and just served. Since CSLB hasn’t finished their investigation should I answer and file a cross-complaint OR do a motion to stay and compel arbitration in CSLB? Or is there another option? TIA!

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

Initially I asked HR not to release the offer letter. Only received the salary breakup. It has been more than 1 week since I asked not to release the offer letter. Can I ask again for releasing the offer letter? Or I will need to wait for another 6 months to apply ?

I am defending an eviction for a client who has given possession of the property (as of Nov. 30). Plaintiff’s complaint has one claim – possession. They did request relief for attorney’s fees. NJT/Final Hearing commenced 10/27, was only 30 min and was therefore continued to 12/20. Plaintiff had counsel at that time but they are no longer represented.  I want to file something notifying Court that Plaintiff claim is now moot, making sure that judgment is not entered that hurts (cont'd)..
