For US consultants: During what hours are you expected to be online for your team (remote work)? Working a minimum of 50 hours/week, I expect to work at night, so I like to log off by 6 (5 preferably) to take some time to eat, exercise, relax before logging back on. Sometimes I'm in meetings until 7pm, and I don't get a break, time to eat, or get to see the sun and go outside. Is that how it is for most people?

Hardest part of navigating maternity leave and WLB as a junior partner?

Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. Depending on how many people are there and how it feels, I was planning to stay an hour extra but should I hang around the office until later? First time visiting this city so it’d be great to take in some sights too (although that’s not a priority of course).

What’s a good exit from FDD that does not travel, less meetings, decent comp & wlb?

Do I have to pay both states’ taxes if the company is in Boston but my role is remote and I’m working from NYC? What would be an more ideal way to file taxes in my situation to save more money?

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.

Regular Ed teachers may have students (mild Learning Disabled kiddos) in their room while teaching.
