Talk to an insurance broker in your area. Best thing I ever did. Saved a lot of money. Allowed me to freelance and make a ton more money for years.
Google is that thing that is making traditional advertising irrelevant
If you happen to be religious, check out Medical Share plans. They don't cover the minor stuff, but they will major events–including childbirth. We have two kids and my monthly commitment is considerably less than it was going though the marketplace–in the neighborhood of 1/3 less.
Google? What's that?
How do you find an insurance broker? Also what is an insurance broker?
Oscar. But it's expensive. I'm paying like $450 now each month just for myself. And they no longer cover NYU doctors. I think next year I'm going to talk to a broker for sure.
I have used a broker in the past and they are great!
Sorry for the lack of clarity. They are Christian organizations. Although there may be something similar for other faiths. Not sure.
It's on the line, @SC1.
Liberty health share is one. My dad uses it and he's not religious at all, says it's great.
Lol
What's the point of going through Obama care if we all make too much to get a subsidy? Honest question.
I just have an individual plan through BCBS, pay about $350. Last year I had Harken which is part of United Health (only available in IL/GA/and another state) it was $270ish, would have kept it this year but it went up like $200. There were cheaper ones but I have an auto immune thing so I have to have decent coverage.
Following.
@CD- religious? Like go to church?
Does the Pope hook it up?
SC1 c'mon you do know how to use Google right?
Healthcare.gov, chose a mid range BCBS plan, pay around $340/month
Do your homework on religious medical ministry programs because they are not insurance and don't guarantee payment. https://nyti.ms/2258AN5 https://www.buzzfeed.com/lauraturner/christian-health-care?utm_term=.eeDZxBVZo#.mqjQbknQe
I got mine through the obamacare exchange before going full time this year.
