Hi fishes,
I interviewed with Siemens Energy for SAP ABAP position on 21st Jan. The interview went on for about an hour and in the end, the interviewer asked my expected ctc and wanted assurance if I won't negotiate on Siemens offer with some other company as i am currently serving notice period and join Siemens if provided an offer.
Till now , the HR team has not reached out to me for salary discussions and my LWD is 7th Feb. Can i expect a call or i got rejected ?Siemens

What’s a good rate for a week?
CD2, glad you pointed that out, a lot of people misunderstand the importance of the actual *role* you’re doing as a freelancer.
A full time CD does different stuff than a freelancing CD. A freelancing CD is often hired as an individual contributor, not as a manager. Like a senior-senior AD or CW. An equivalent fulltimer for a typical freelancing CD would be an ACD plus a little extra money for having better chops and not needing to be managed. That freelance gig is a wholly different *role* than a proper fulltime CD making $275K who has to work with planners, resourcing, agency business, etc, on top of managing numerous creative teams. That role is rarely done by freelancers, but in the rare case it’s needed, they should definitely charge $2200 for it.
In a nutshell, the rate is based on the role for the gig itself, not your old title.
The only upside is that she’s transparent with rate. Not everyone is upfront and keeping it in the open.
Openly pushing our prices down surely enough.
I saw a guy who commented it’s way to low for a week and the comment was deleted after some hours.
You mean to tell me you made 176k/year as a junior? And idk that rate seems pretty fair (if not high?) for a standard copywriter level? Or is the outrage here that she wants more of a CD level copywriter at that rate?
Also CD1, freelancers rarely work all year while salary is a guarantee so that has to be accounted for.
This is going to happen more and more, this low rate. But it’s not 2018 any more. It’s totally depressing but in a couple years time copywriters are going to be fighting each other for $3400 a week.
That is a fair point.
If we don’t band together and stand up to these holding companies we’ll be no better off than getting jobs from creative circle. What’s to stop them from pushing our prices down even further? Where’s our dignity?
Yup.
Ass rate
LOL post is gone. And you can bet someone got booked.
😳
That's less? 😮
What's a normally paid in NY, per week?
Wow!!! Almost choked on my food, reading that.
There are enough people who will take it… especially for just a quick gig.
Question from Europe… 3400*4 is 13.600. A month. If you have 6 months like this in a year is 81.600. How much you need to have a decent life in NYC? Pretty sure people doing ‘normal’ jobs earn waaaaaay less than that.
I do that money as cd with region responsibilities on a big automotive account.
FCB1 is asking a reasonable question. You are correct, FCB1. Its actually more money that that over 6 months because there is more than 4 weeks in a month. Yes, people can easily live on that day rate, but only if the freelance jobs last that long. But also as others have pointed out, nyc and the United States is more expensive. Healthcare is one big reason.
The preservation of the self over the common good of the community works every time for the oppressing force. As long as we are convinced that we are not in this together, as long as we feel isolated and disconnected from our fellow creatives, as long as we fell it is me vs you, the holding companies will continue to exploit us and push our rates down.
Wake the f* up!
