I’m starting as a Manager at one of the big 4 in 3 weeks. I left my tenure track job 4 yrs ago so I’m accustomed to non-academic work but still intimidated. Advice? Will I succeed this first year?

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?

I am currently in an IT internship position (making pretty solid money considering) and following this summer I will stay on part time during my senior year (discussing a full-time job offer after already). I’m getting my computer science degree, so I would like to do something more technical in the workplace when I graduate. How do I advocate myself for that to my manager without sounding unappreciative of the position I’m in?

Hi Fishes, im currently in energy consulting domain. 6 yr YEO. Non IT background with PG. took up a course on advanced certifn. in DS and AI w Intellipaat in the hopes of a hike or a possible career transition. CTC is 7.9 .

Any advice on what should be my realistic expectation after the course and gaining knowledge on Python, SQL, MLops, Power BI, Tableau?

Does anyone have any insight into partners retiring early? I am at a point where I need to consider leaving if I am not aiming for partner. I don’t see myself working past my 40s. My partner and I are not big spenders and anticipate have enough to retire comfortably in 40s (obviously a lot can change). I have been assured I will become SM in next year (currently 31 years old).

Is it worth considering a career in Restructuring Consulting in the long term given that their work can be quite cyclical and hinges on the spectrum of the economy.
Or have I misunderstood this? Are the teams always busy with projects?
