Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?

Honestly? It’s not you and it’s probably not your résumé. There are like 100 to 200 applicants for almost every job opening right now. So getting your resume seen, so that someone will call you for an interview is nearly impossible. It’s a numbers game you have to flood the market with your résumé And hope something gets through. Good luck in your job hunt.
I would encourage you to consider doing some projects to show your skills. A portfolio that helps differentiate you and highlights your creativity. When you don't have a lot of experience, things like that can set you apart in the job searching process.
Having someone you know in the industry to refer you goes a long way, though knowing someone to do so may be difficult…
I just posted a job and had 400 applicants the first 2 days. That is a LOT for a hiring manager to go through.
Make sure you send a stand out LinkedIn message to the relevant person. And share work samples or thought processes that validate you can do the job.
