Has anyone dealt with a lack of praise from attorneys? I'm not someone who needs to hear "good job" all the time, but we just got a huge deal closed that I worked really hard on and had a lot of overtime. And once it closed, the lead attorney praised the other attorneys, and said nothing about me or my work. I might just be overly sensitive, but it kind of stung. Thoughts?

Same thing just happened to me, I was working on a huge arbitration. It was just me and the partner... No one else. And I got a thank you! That's it. Not a oooooo you did fantastic and the way you prepared the binders with evidence will help us win the case!!!! My partner is an ass though and probably didn't even think anymore about just giving me a thanks.

Yep. I’ve been in both situations and if I have learned anything at this point it’s that I NEED that validation. I’m now working with the absolute nicest attorneys who are all young(er) women around the same age as me, 26-32ish, who are the best about a lot of praise and encouragement and it’s such a huge motivator for me. I’ve worked for a lot of attorneys I loved but gave very little praise and I can totally see a difference in my stress levels and happiness by just knowing where I stand and being given credit for hard work or a good job.

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

Any tips for finding remote paralegal roles? I am currently a senior corporate paralegal.

Is anyone actually doing ok in this industry? I'm burnt out, and I can't think of anyone I work with who isn't. I can't tell if that means my firm is terrible or the industry as a whole is terrible, but I'm leaning towards the later.

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

I must say that the people i work with are incredible however the lead attorney is completely insufferable. They call after hours constantly and love to micro manage me and other associates . We are constantly berated and are made to feel like crap. This is my first firm working as a paralegal and i need to know if this is just me and this firm. Additionally i feel as tho i am underpaid with 36k
