Fellow Fishes -

How did you all deal with failure in your career. I was ambitious and smart. I was in IBM and considered to be one of the best of my class. I was fired and haven’t really found my way.

I don’t know what to do anymore. 3 years after the fact, I am still at an entry level position. I hate myself for letting things get this bad but I don’t know how to get out of this perpetual cycle. I tried working my ass off but have not been able to shake off that unfortunate past.

I work as a procurement buyer at an engineering services firm and my CTC is 7.3 lakhs per annum. I started my professional career in 2018 at 4.5 lakhs per annum.

I feel my growth has been slow. Suggestions?

Wanted to know what is the salary draw of professionals with this much experience in the same area?

For you experienced consultants, what were some impactful changes (good/bad) that you experienced moving from a broader general firm (big 4,MBB, etc) to a boutique /LS specific firm (ZS, putnam, etc)?

Mid-level M&A associate over here. Thinking I’d like to make the move out of big law but struggling with what my options are. Have no interest in going in-house and staying in a legal capacity - would want to transition into more of a business role. Wondering if anyone can share their experience making that kind of move.

Thoughts?

Landlord advice - my absentee landlady lives in Russia and is refusing to pay for emergency plumbing that I needed as my kitchen floor was flooded with gunk from the pipes (blockage in the pipes).
