I have a question is it better to work at a daycare as a teacher assistant or at a public school as a paraprofessional? Is the pay better at a public school vs daycare?

I'm deciding if I should work as a paraprofessional the only thing is that in the summer you have to find another job until school starts again in September.

I recently did a job interview and I made it clear to the HR my expectation salary is 60k a year, non negotiable.
Today I got the job offer and they are offering me 54k. My current company is making me 50k with tons of benefits which is why I am asking for 60k.

Just wondering if others have a clue what’s going on. We have been told nothing about how we will do our job this year. Or if we even have a job. Our school is doing in school for K-6 and hybrid for 7-12. I’m not sure if I even want to be there. It’s very concerning to me.

Hi fellow teacher assistants, instructional assistants, teachers aide, paraprofessionals. I am a full time k assistant in an elementary school. I'm wondering how other schools share lunch duty.

I feel like in our school they are asking more and more of aides and other staff with no certification (beyond HS diploma). Don't get me wrong I don't mind helping out but we are the lowest paid position in the district, why are we asked to fill in for everyone else with no compensation? Ive subbed in classroom and special areas... um even uncertified subs make more than me... admin insists this is happening everywhere and we need to be flexible... but is it really?!?!
