Hi Fishes, Sometime back I was interviewed for Technical Support Job role in my domain. T1 went well. T2, in my understanding was better only (not great like T1 but not blunder. I felt it was nice and i replied majority of questions). They released the feedback after 10 days with "Not Positive". I am not totally sure with feedback as I replied majority of questions correct. I am being bit curious with "Microsoft" tag. What can be the reason?
Discussion appreciated.

Miami . Good option for dating especially when you know Spanish
Is it that bad ?
Congratulations!
ME woman here. Don’t go to Miami unless you want to date an escort, are into drugs and have no aspirations in life except to look good. And right now, rent prices are insanely high.
Depending on what’s important to you, the answer is different:
Tampa area is good
DC area
TX
Carolinas
CA (but has high cost of living).
Chicago (unless you don’t enjoy the cold)
Chief
I second DC!
OP: you need to do a CBA of Cost of Living versus local activity/your interests, consider your political alignment & local attitudes towards minorities, and ideally test a place out for a quarter or two renting before you decide to buy.
I’m a plainly biased Pacific resident (& immigrant), but here are broad strokes:
PNW — high CoL. Diverse & pluralist — dominated by liberal/left libertarian politics — culture isn’t super extroverted but welcoming to a fault. Low state income taxes, high sales taxes. Best outdoors in the country; mountains, deserts, oceans, islands, hills & valleys, volcanos, lakes — biking, sailing, skiing, hiking all readily accessible from urban areas. Seattle/Portland + NorCal & Cascades Wilderness. CAUTION: friendlier cities here attract large populations of homeless people and the US currently lacks good policy to address this problem.
NW Mountains — Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Nevada — varied CoL, mixed bag politically — some redder, some bluer states — all with a much more moderated political climate that the rest of the country. Even conservatives here tend to be environmentalist, and even liberals tend to be pro-2A. Geography is lush mountains interrupted by plains & Nevada’s giant desert; great for outdoorsy folks who have no interest in extended ocean activity, and probably the best region in the country for snowsports. Denver, Cœur d’Alene (skip Boise), Missoula, Salt Lake City. WARNING: rural areas here, especially in Idaho, are popular with certain fringe Neo-Nazi & similar groups.
California — highest CoL, liberal/left authoritarian politics — conservatives are basically permanently locked out of power here — SFB & San Diego are welcoming, LA not so much. High state income taxes, high sales taxes, lots of taxes. Great outdoors — comprises about every biome you can think of — the state is big enough to be its own country. CAUTION: it’s extremely difficult to become a homeowner here without piles of cash on hand.
Southwestistan — Arizona, NM, Texas — very low CoL, dry, dusty, largely empty outside of major cities; conservative and right wing dominated. All 3 but especially Arizona and NM have been trending more and more liberal for some time — largely a consequence of left leaning folks moving out there (mainly to bigger cities) from bluer states for lower CoL — as a consequence, many locals are not very welcoming of new arrivals. Good outdoors if you’re allergic to water; otherwise hellscape. Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, San Antonio, DFW, Austin. WARNING: you’re likely to see people here walk around what may seem at first glance like civilized cities with guns strapped to their hips and rattlesnakes slithering across the sidewalk; rural areas are home to dangerous militia and cults.
Southeastistan — the old Confederacy — like Southwestistan but wetter & more conservative/extremely right wing. Diversity here is high but still weirdly segregated in many parts — entire towns and neighborhoods are all white or all black or all Latino; feels very foreign to a West coaster. Basically from Houston over to the Atlantic — no elevation to speak of that entire time. GA and NC are standout purple states more welcoming of newcomers than the others. Good real estate prices but very little in the way of major cities or big industry if you ever want to change jobs. Houston, Atlanta, Raleigh are the places to be. Asheville and Savannah are cool hipster towns. WARNING: here and the Midwest are where the Klan & people who don’t mind the Klan have a vicegrip on political power.
DMV — DC, Maryland, Virginia — seat of the federal government (DMV being tongue in cheek abbreviation shared with our most hated and slowest moving arm of any government). Left Authoritarian politics. Way less chill than West Coast — pedigree counts for a lot in this professional scene. Awesome museums; great universities. High CoL, Very diverse. The Wire might be the best TV show ever made. DC/Baltimore & surroundings.
Tri-State — Pennsylvania, NJ, NY, Connecticut (I know that’s 4, don’t @ me) — highest CoL, higher than most of California. Liberalish politics? Not as ideological but more corrupt than West coast. Extremely diverse, endless opportunity to make and lose money. Biggest metro area in the country and center of finance. Distinct subculture. Get used to being yelled at in a friendly way and having to yell back to be heard. SUPER welcoming. Strongest hookup culture on Earth maybe. New York City, Philadelphia + surroundings.
New England — Maine, Massachusetts, RI, VT, NH — SUPER chill vibes here, except in Boston. These people except in Boston just want to be left alone; only other place I’d love here besides PNW if I’m honest. Left libertarians; no big cities other than Boston. Watch The Town & The Departed to get an intro to the unique subculture of Boston. Like all the worst bits of New York amplified and made caricatures of themselves. AMAZING seafood.
Midwest — everything in between. Chicago, St Louis. Cold as hell — angry and corrupt politics — incompetent goofs in charge at every level no matter their ideology; recommend just fly over it.
I didn’t point it out above but Mormons might be the friendliest people in the country.
They just kept trying to take my heathen 🍑 to church is all.
No disputing that Utah is beautiful & lacks an ocean.

if time zones matter then portland/seattle. if not depending on big city or not, lots of choices from austin to denver to nyc to miami
There is actually a high population of Indian Americans and ME expats in Texas. They also have no state income tax and your ability to speak Spanish would be beneficial there.
Our property and sales tax make, at least for property owners, our effective tax rate higher than California. It’s absolutely true we don’t have a state IT but that doesn’t necessarily offset the rest of what you get zapped for.
I speak Spanglish and have legit ran into like 3 situations where we couldn’t communicate in 35 years.
Live feed from Texas:
Listen, you don't need to speak Spanish to live in miami. Of course it will help but there are otyou don't need to know Spanish to live in miami, there are other cultures here that speak other languages. It would be best if you know at least 2, 3 would be average.
Ghank you I do speak German and Persian beside eng and spanish :)

And that matters for work because…?
What draws you to Miami? What are important factors for you?

If you are remote and in your 20’s: NYC is the only correct answer
Otherwise LA, Miami, Chicago (except weather) and Tampa (debatable)
IMO, I would still pick NYC

If 30’s I think DMV or Chicago would be your best bet!
Hey and thank for all the replys:
Miami because of weather and yeah the latina density. I lived before in Medellin so like the culture :).
CA would be great( big home community) but I am afraid of cost of living there.
Miami is comparable with col
Lol asking Americans where to live in their country is always a surefire way to spark a thousand comments.
I dropped a longish intro below.

NJ. Good for immigrants, especially for ME and Asian. You get to experience all four seasons. Top state school system. Large single family houses in pretty neighbourhoods. You can travel to NYC and Philly one hour each (if you live in central NJ).
