If it’s big law, they still required them. If it’s a small firm, tell them to F off.
If you are applying in Big Law, we still require them up until you reach the counsel or partner level.
If you didn’t have the chops/grades to meet our hiring criteria while you were in law school, then we still wouldn’t be interested in you post law school unless you meet a very specialized senior level need.
Thanks for providing that insight/peek behind the curtain.
A lot of firms have the same attitude to one degree or another.
for them, yes. those with the best grades, highest "accolades", are the easiest to manipulate and that is what they are looking for. good little worker bees!
Clearly they’ve been burned before
Hmmm not normal. Are you going for an associate or more senior role?
I too, even as a paralegal have experienced this providing transcript thing, in both big-law, small law, as well as in gov. legal settings! Yep, I had to order four transcripts from all four universities to prove that I actually earned my degrees, including my paralegal MA, BA and two AS degrees. Maybe they just want to be sure that you are who you say you are and that it jibes with your resume. It does seem a bit superfluous to me, but hey, in this nobody truats their fellow man work environment world, I can see their point.
