Gut check please. Received an offer to join a major company in another country. 13 YOE generalist, and I've been trying to break into big tech (mag 7) with no luck. What would TC be at my level at mag 7? Wondering if I should accept or keep targeting mag 7 in the US. (I'm ok with moving to another country, but wonder if coming back to thr US would be difficult).

Offer:
325k (usd) base
90k (usd) target bonus
50k (usd) worth of living/housing expenses (expat package).

That sounds very good. Which country is this? The strength of the offer depends on the currency and cost of living.

We will have to know which country to be able to say for sure.

If USD and in a cheaper market than most major US cities, this is a phenomenal offer.

I would peg it somewhere between MCOL and HCOL. But good thing is that my housing is mostly covered brining my expenses down greatly...

I would love the opportunity to go live in another country. Assuming it’s not having similar problems as this one…

US is the worst for mass shootings, ICE and racism and maga, healthcare costs etc. I could go on. We are a great country, but would love to experience a different perspective. Maybe simpler is easier. Who knows. But I would love the chance to find out.

OP, if you could let me know how you found this opportunity, I would appreciate it. Feel feel to send a DM.

The bonus seems a tad stingy. Maybe try to negotiate up to target 30% (so counter with a 40% target bonus to maybe land at 30% at the end). Is the expat package every year? Thatseems quite generous, although I guess they're thinking that might make up for absence of equity, which seems a bit of a low-ball. I'm not at mag7 bigtech, but I from what I've heard/seen, I understand their bases will probably be lower than that, bonus may be around 30-40% of target but equity will be huge (like couple/few hundred K grant vesting 25% each year over 4 years or something like that). All that to say, even without equity, esp if the expat package is every year, that seems a solid offer tbh

This is fantastic! You won’t get this in big tech easily. Esp not Amazon or MSFT

If you practice collections in-house, what do you earn and do you receive a bonus?

I have practiced for five years and make $121k as an employee of a financial services company. I receive only a $1k bonus per year. Is my compensation fair? My last insurance defense gig was $75k.

Can anyone help me wrap my head around this post Series C start-up equity offer? It’s an IP director position, the the base is $170 with 10% bonus (both lower than I was expecting). There’s also an equity component: 0.15% of current fully diluted equity. This equates to about 30000 shares at a strike price of $2. They also indicate the preferred stock price is $6 and preferred stock equity is $188k (whatever that means). They are in the middle of a new financing and valuation round.
