I'm okay with Trump's Executive Order. Honestly if you're that good, the company will shell out $100K. Just look at the packages Meta has recently offered to attract AI skills, $100K is nothing for them.
I love how SM2 just came in here to be mad 😂

Op- universities also go outside of US for fee revenue, not just for talent.
But I think Indian community is feeling more concerned with the latest h1 and student visa curbs is that we are proud Indians but we also know we don’t have opportunities in India.
We want out of India so badly but we don’t say it out loud. We act as if we are doing a favor to US by joining their universities but the truth is that our best students spend so much money preparing for US GMAT and other exams to get out of India.
So our threats like, fine we won’t come here is empty. We go to UK or EU, but we don’t stay back in India because we know we have corruption and poverty that just won’t go away.
Chinese and other countries also use student and H1 visa but we are the biggest users, why?
We know we don’t have quality of life, value of a middle class person in India is zero, and even a minor scuffle with a police inspector or a small time politician can ruin your life for ever. Government tells you to clap at 5 pm everyday during COVID while they are hiding the real number of deaths, people lining up in front of gurudwara for oxygen in Delhi, country’s capital, because government keeps saying there is no shortage of oxygen when people are dying.
Isn’t that the real reason for our reaction to these new developments.
Thank you for an honest post.
It sure looks like you are stealing 85,000 American jobs.
I’m embarrassed to even remotely share a profession with you. Critical thinking used to be a requirement.
Look up the unemployment rate. Then tell me more about all these Americans jobs being “stolen.”
OP: your race/racism card expired on Jan 20th 2025.
These people… everything is racist to them!🤣

You really aren’t making a good case that immigrants are talented as you are just ranting illogically.
Is it racism or is it that you have a sense of entitlement? Countries have an interest in ensuring their own citizens’ prosperity first. If it were racism, the fee would apply to a specific race, but the H1B fee covers all nationalities and ethnicities. Universities love intl students because they pay higher tuition. It’s 85,000/ year times the number of years it’s offered. That doesn’t mean there are only 85K H1Bs in the country.
umm
Why do you even need to be here in the first place? What value do you add by taking the role over an American? It’s not like you’re taking highly senior highly skilled jobs. We don’t need H1Bs in entry level and managerial level roles. American Gen Z’s are struggling to find corporate jobs. Go make your own country better!
Why does the US have to issue tens of thousands of H1B visas if there is such a dramatic job crisis here? Why does the US grant H1B visas for entry-level jobs?
.
Good catch MD
It’s about time something was done. The H1-B situation has been long out of hand. Indians have overrun and taken over the IT space and they work hard to keep others out. I’ve personally seen careers ruined because of Indian conniving and collusion. Not to mention the dishonesty. I’ve seen it at all levels, from interview surrogates to kickbacks, overbilling, no-show jobs, nepotism, lying about the status of their assignments. Not to mention those who will ignore directions and priorities and do as they please. Don’t get me started on the recruiting scams.
When Oracle first became hit, I saw Indian contractors teaching other Indians - strangers - Oracle coding and configuration in the conference rooms. Some of those students ended up as employees who were grossly incompetent. I lost count of how many I saw at their workstation, whispering into the the phone in another language while someone on the other end was telling them what to do. Meanwhile, non-Indians were being grilled in technical interviews until they were finally stumped. Of course, that single failed answer was enough to get them rejected.
As I mentioned, it’s been going on for awhile. Twenty-five years I myself was laid off and forced to train my Indian replacement in order to collect my severance. After 11 years of service.
So spare us the whining. The resentment is well-earned.
Point being the erosion of value is across the board. You mentioned that I have 1 anecdotal evidence so it must be true for everyone. I did not mention this in context of a group. You did.
Was totally wondering when racism
was gonna get brought up 😂😂😂😂
Ok just realized youre copy/pasting this response all over the place 😂😂😂
As long as there are Americans out of work in the industry that the H1B visas are being supported then I believe that the government should close that as an option for H1B. Ie.. if IT industry has unemployed Americans then they should revoke all of the H1B visas in that industry. This would encourage American businesses to train members in skillsets needed in the industry. If they took the money needed to support H1B visas and invested in their own country there would be less unemployment
Not just in the industry. Out of work overall. As you point out, we need to encourage businesses to train people for other jobs.
Okay
Em no - that's not racism. You do know that companies can reject someone's job applications when they say they need sponsorship (i.e. they aren't permanent residents or IS citizens), right?
That's completely legal.
Actually it is national origin discrimination.
Overall, there are approximately 730,000 H-1B visa holders residing in the United States. If you include both active workers and their dependents (such as spouses and children), it’s about1.3 million people.
How is this racism? I don't agree with the EO or the conspiracy theory that H1B is making Americans lose jobs. But this EO affects everyone., maybe disproportionately some.

I in agreement with his order. American’s need to have more jobs. Job market hasn’t been strong. Companies paying lower salaries because newbies like H1B folks are accepting low rate killing the job market salary. I am being angry date rust I was making 25 years out of college. We are going backwards and this needs to be fixed. Sorry H1B poster but it is time we take actions and bring job market, economy and salaries up where we used to be or better
Here is the deal, you allow companies hire H1B and send work offshore they will do it to optimise on cost. This is capitalism at its finest. Everyone worries about their bottom line. But what does this do to us, American citizens? We have fewer jobs and competing with salaries that H1B people agree to or offshore rates. We won’t live in Bangladeshi or Dominican Republic, we live in US, paying high taxes and deal with high prices of inflation. How are we supposed to survive and strive. H1B should be shut down or reduced to the minimum and companies should not be allowed to send work to offshore. Let’s build USA to what it used to be or better by bring jobs back to America with a competitor salaries that many of us deserve based on high cost of education in USA
I would also add diversity requirements to new h1b visa. There are many talented people across the nations, NOT particular ones to reduce corruption and to avoid conniving and collusion as someone who have seen this with my own eyes.
85000 jobs that American unemployed people can have. Listen it was nice and dandy when economy and job market was booming. At this time every bit counts. We need to bring jobs back at a descent salary rates
You are a good human being, seeking a better life, and opportunity.
Read the room... did you read what I read? Unapologetic racist, vile, no holds barred responses.
These are your colleagues, peers, people who smile in your face at work, hug you to feel where they should put the knife in your back for maximum impact.
The system was being abused, Biden put parameters in place, not out of racism, but to limit corruption.
The outright corruption you are witnessing by the Trump administration is being celebrated by commenters of this post because it benefits them, them as in white people.
White privelege is real.
Racism is real.
Mediocrity is real.
Laziness is real.
You are hopefully wise enough to take this information and do what you will.
You are witnessing the death of america.
White people are sitting at the front of the funeral of their own country cheering it on, because they believe it only hurts non whites.
