Any type-1 diabetics (in Big4) over here? How do you guys manage your health with so much work stress/hours?
Hey everyone, I am a recent MPA grad and just got a job in healthcare operations at a start-up but quickly realizing it's not for me. I've done hospital administration/corporate strategy before and thinking of entering the consulting world. Anyone here have a similar story? Or working in healthcare consulting right now and open to network? Would love to chat!
Trying to figure out how to manage health issues and work balance. I just recently found out I might have herpes (waiting for the test results to come back) and I have been very and feeling like my life is over especially because it came from being cheated on and struggling with prioritizing my bandwidth and not knowing how to communicate it with my team. Due to stigmas around something as common as herpes I cannot comfortably share that with my team.
Moving to london soon - curious how much you spend on bills? Internet, water, gas & electricity, council tax, insurance?
Can we not call it TrumpCare or ObamaCare and just call it the Affordable Care Act like it should have been from day one. Stop playing politics with healthcare. People die from this BS.
How do you feel about your firm's benefits package, on retirement (401K), PTO, parental leave, and health insurance? Curious to see whether and how you think your firm needs to make adjustments.
Super bummed - took my health seriously this year, lost 40 pounds, found my love for running again, and was preparing to post a PR marathon in a couple weeks. My first day of tapering and I suffered a grade 3 ankle sprain. Now that my sob story is over - how do I stay healthy and relatively fit while being immobile for a bit? Do I just really need to focus on diet? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Contacted by a recruiter from PwC, I have 4 yrs of experience in management consulting with a health background. Been doing mostly healthcare operations & strategy work—what area would I align @ PwC?

Anyone have luck with Talkspace or online therapy? I signed up for Talkspace, payed, and then was never matched with a Therapist. They refunded me after I reached out but then offered an even bigger discount to give it another shot. My mental health is already strained and idk if I should take a chance with not being matched again. Thanks for any advice and/or help 🐠!
Fellow PwCers. Are you on a firm health care plan, vision, dental, or legal plan. If for so, has it been valuable?

While we’re spending our time arguing over riots and protests, be sure to do what you can to help fight the injustice, whether through signing petitions, donating to non profits, helping/buying from/donating to your local POC owned businesses, calling your local politicians, and don’t forget to care about your own mental health. While our job doesn’t allow us to have the capacity to heal ourselves, we should do what we can with the little time we have to make sure we’re okay as well.

How do you respond when your peers / friends ask your exact salary (and annual bonus) and don't relent unless you give the exact number?
What are your strategies for completing work efficiently? How do you figure out how long projects should take? A consistent piece of feedback on my yearly reviews has been that I over-bill & spend too much time on assignments. It’s something I actively work on, but I still have no concrete sense of how long I should spend on basic tasks (e.g., drafting a motion to dismiss). My firm is right to expect that I manage my time better as a mid-level associate. WFH has made my time management worse.
B4 strategy or general 🐠, would love your advice. Currently, 2 YOE at a well known non B4 firm doing PI/Transformation work. I didn’t get promoted this year because I didn’t have enough experience in my particular group because I was staffed on a different project for awhile. I’m interested in Strategy analyst roles (1 YOE). Will me not being promoted hurt my chances? I’ll probably get promoted at the beginning of 2022. Should I wait until then to apply? Thanks. Hi guys, I am in a process of receiving an offer from my current employer’s US Branch. However, the job is gonna be in a different department (M&A) than the one I worked for here (Audit). Would that be an issue with respect to the L1 visa process? Thanks for the advise.
