Having lived in the states and seen the horrors of privatised healthcare first hand, I don’t mind paying a bit more NI if it means everyone can have better access.
My beef isn’t with the NHS, it’s the way the government responsible for putting it in the position it’s in now have chosen to implement this funding in particular.
It hurts people with less (including carers and NHS staff) much more.
You’re probably on quite a bit more money than I am, so this will have less of a dent on your living costs. It’s easier to be magnanimous about it.
Just gonna have to start stealing more loo-role, stationary and Magic Mice!
It’s about £20 a month if you earn 29k.
Usually happy to pay taxes but this one hits different considering we’re helping pay back the money the tories pissed up the wall.
I'm annoyed. As an industry we don't get enough raises anyway to accommodate inflation so each year we are consistently losing money, (unless you get promoted) and this just adds to it.
I wish VAT went up instead.
