What jobs are currently paying 85k?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Asking for a raise 3 months after starting is a choice-
I typically don't even bother trying to ask for raises before my 12 month mark. It seems a little bit presumptuous, to me personally. Unless I've taken on significantly more work than I initially agreed to, I just weighed the customer every year before I even broach the subject.
Please don’t.
Why would you ask for a raise after 3 month probation? Did they underpay to start with? Crazy to even consider it. Obviously not knowing what was agreed upon before your starting so assuming just a regular situation. I mean, what justifies a pay bump? Congrats you got passed 90 days, you continue doing your job.
I understand your perspective. 🙌
If you are doing considerable well, you can start hinting by the 6 months mark so that one year down the line, you can get the bump.

Only if they promised it. Otherwise, have never done that before.
