Has anyone asked for a promotion recently? I know in these times of layoffs and pay cuts it’s hard, but i have really stepped up in my role recently. I would love to hear anyone’s experience in starting the conversation. Any advice would be extremely helpful!

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? First-year tax staff that started end of Q3, and just had my first year-end performance evaluation meeting. Got laid off in tech corp dev making 250-300 all in. Have an offer to join a fairly new family office investment team in PE buyouts but will be a fairly significant cash pay cut vs what I was making in tech corp dev. My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. Just became an ACD. Im in a limbo. Half of the time im being treated as a Super Senior AD and the other half im being treated as a Almost CD. Then when im scoped over work that my CD and I oversee, some people are asking me how does my role differ from the CD’s, as they tend to look at me as an unnecessary layer for approvals.
