Looking from the in house side, what year (eg, fourth year associate) is a sweet spot to go in house? Especially as private equity associate.

Between 3-7 years. You’ll get more specialized experience at a firm and more general and biz experience in-house. Doors really open up after 5 years.

5 ish

Agree with 5+. You can go at 3 but you will be "junior" in house for way too long.

I hear this but I can’t bare to stay in a firm for 2.5 more years

I went in-house after just under 3 years in biglaw and it’s been great so far. No regrets.

This hasn’t been my experience, I’m used to Art Directors and Designers having separate career paths. However, I’m trying to keep an open mind. Is this org structure familiar to to anyone else? If so, has it been effective? Thanks in advance!

Thoughts on the "fake it til you make it" mentality in career growth? Regarding a Front End Developer role.

I passed the HR screen, did an interview with who would be my) supervisor and the team lead, and am now doing a coding test.

I am familiar enough with the language (React) and pushing updates to Git in order to complete the test, but I'm afraid when I do a panel with the team to review my design, I'll end up making a fool of myself.

I've never been so excited yet so nervous for a role.

Need a sanity check here.

When I joined my current company, we were on a quarterly bonus structure with guaranteed payouts each quarter. This was, in fact, how the recruiter said he could meet my salary request.

The company just announced we are moving to annual payouts only, with no payments for 2023 until May 2024. There are no raises happening.

This amounts to 12% less money in my pocket in 2023 plus inflation.

Is this standard, or should I be looking for opportunities elsewhere?
