Has anyone done FP&A at an investment company? I’m curious if the finance people working on deals think they are more important.

I have a friend that does. She absolutely loves what she does too. From her perspective she says nobody thinks they are better than anyone and everyone gets along really well.

That is awesome. Obviously this is the ideal situation.

I did. FP&A in an investment firm is like the mechanics fixing the box furnace in a Formula 1 team. That is what is transmitted

like

Yeah I do, sometimes the deal teams act like rockstars and it's annoying to deal with. But the good ones always respect FP&A because we are what's keeping the projections and plans moving.

Ya, there always has to be a couple of people like that

Yes and yes

Yes it was easier knowing thats just how they were. I just tried to keep interactions to a minimum.

Hi everyone! Can anyone tell me what you make as a typical banquet/events manager for salary or per hour? I’ve worked for Marriott/Bonvoy at the Ritz and for the Curio Collection with Hilton as a bartender/server/banquets captain. Now I’m working for a privately owned hotel and as a manager role in Banquets/Events. Because of pandemic times, what is everyone else making?
